The process of creating things has always been so captivating to me..and still is. I love drawing, painting, poetry, working with fabrics, wood-working, and recently photography! "You Do" by Kara Walker (1993-4, American, paper)
This artist uses silhoutes to illustrate issues of race, slavery and more. Her images are mainly black and white, but the message of each is so deep that it can require much contemplation. She has a way of using a technique that seems simple, but is very profound. Look closely and see what meaning you find. Great work!
